Frosted mint

(a.k.a. rosemary mint, purple sage)

Frosted mint is a shrub found on eroded slopes and in sandy soils. The leaves are attached directly to the branches without a supporting stalk. The leaves are long and narrow with almost parallel sides and covered with white, soft, wooly hairs.

People have chewed the leaves of frosted mint to treat rheumatism and ear trouble, to sweeten the taste of other drugs, and as flavoring in food preparation.
